The oldest ski resort in Bulgaria suffers from poor infrastructure, although there are major new development plans

Favoured retreat of the Bulgarian elite, Borovets is set in beautiful forested mountains just 73 km from Sofia. The resort is smaller than Bansko but still attracts British and European package tourists. Property in the resort is fairly limited, but there are also houses in the nearby villages.
