Property Guide — Altinkum & Didim

Affordable, accessible and with a good beach

Altinkum is popular with British property buyers thanks to its white sand beaches, which gives the resort its Turkish name - Golden Sand. It's conveniently close to Bodrum and Izmir airports, and a handful of interesting historic sites.

The local property market is dominated by apartment blocks and purpose-built complexes, though you can find villas too. Prices typically start from £35,000 for a very basic apartment, though you'll need to pay from £50,000 upwards for a decent apartment closer to the sea and with facilities such as a communal pool.

The nearby resort of Akbuk is a lot quieter, particularly off-season when it is virtually deserted, though this suits some buyers looking for a more peaceful spot. Property is cheaper than Altinkum and there are several new developments in the area.
