Mostly ignored by foreign buyers, Cesme attracts Turkish tourists and second home owners with its beaches, dining and nightlife

Overlooking the Greek island of Chios, Cesme is a small Turkish holiday town. Only a 45-minute drive from the city of Izmir, many Turkish families have second homes in the area. In recent years the town has also become a fashionable summer destination for wealthy people from Istanbul and Ankara. Despite its domestic appeal, comparatively few foreign tourists visit or buy property.

There is an excellent choice of property from apartments to new villas, although prices are rising rapidly on the back of strong domestic demand.
