The country's best known ski resort is Uludag, near Bursa, which is good for beginners
and intermediates. Gentle runs twist down through pine forests and there are some more
testing slopes and off-piste on the flanks of 2,542 metre Mount Uludag. The resort has a good
selection of hotels, as well as rental shops. The bazaar and thermal springs of Bursa
are just a taxi or cable car ride away.
The season is December to March,
although best conditions are generally in January and February.
There are other smaller resorts at Saklikent near Antalya; Mount Erciyes near
Cappadocia; Palandoken (pictured right) near the eastern city of Erzurum and Sarikarmis near Kars.
