Huge Turkish project to target high-end market

23 August 2007

Capital Partners have announced plans for a huge upmarket tourism and residential project, named Kaplankaya, which will be located in the Aegean region near the resort of Bodrum. The $1.5 billion development will include residential areas, hotels, a marina, shopping and entertainment venues, as well as schools, health services and sports centres. The development will be built in five distinct communities with over 2,000 homes and five hotels, and it aims to attract up to 70,000 visitors each year.

“We believe that Kaplankaya heralds a new dawn in the Turkish tourism industry,” said Burak Öymen of Capital Partners. “Our development is not only the most ambitious ever in terms of size, but ambitious in attracting a new, high-end target market and in setting the agenda for a pioneering, holistic approach to real estate development.”

A group of high-profile international architects including Lord Norman Foster, Robert Stern and Carlos Ferrater, are collaborating with well-known Turkish architects on the project, which will be completed by 2012.
