Strong showing for Bulgaria at the ‘Property Oscars’
20 November 2006 Bulgarian companies won numerous accolades at the 13th annual International Property Awards- known as the ‘Oscars of the overseas property world’. This year’s entries were judged by a panel chaired by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State, and including Phil Spencer, co-presenter of Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location, and industry heavy-weights such as Peter Bolton King, head of the National Association of Estate Agents, with over 150 individual awards presented at a glittering ceremony at London’s Marriott Hotel on 3 November.
Among the Bulgarian winners was GeshaView, a “ruro-retreat” and spa resort being built by SimpliBulgaria near Veliko Tarnovo, which scooped the coveted 5-star award for Best Bulgarian Development for the second year running.
“A development of this type is a world first and although the photos look attractive, the only way to appreciate our village and the beautiful surroundings is to visit. So far no one has been disappointed,” says Chris Downham, managing director of SimpliBulgaria.
The development’s first property, The Gate House, also won Best Bulgarian Property. Visit the hot property collection to find out more about GeshaView.
UK agents Bulgarian Dreams won Best Bulgarian Estate Agency and a 4-star award for The Orchard, their ski and spa complex near Bansko. Visit the hot property collection to find out more about The Orchard.
“We are absolutely delighted to be presented with these awards. This is the third year in a row we have won Best Bulgarian agent and I am incredibly proud of our entire team,” comments Robert Jenkins, managing director of Bulgarian Dreams.
Other Bulgarian prize-winners included Platinum Developments (www.pdi.ie) for their 5-star Sunset Resort in Sunny Beach and the TVL-Group (www.tvlgroup-bg.com), who won Best Bulgarian Architecture for their Obzor Bay Beach & Spa Resort.
